File Menu (ALT+F)
Open... (CTRL+O) Displays the File Open Dialog to open a FLV file. (To open a file, you can also drag and drop the file on the Captionate window). Captionate can also open Captionate Batch Text files. A Captionate XML can also be imported by simple drag and drop when an FLV file is already open. A subset of openDVT XML format is also now accepted. When opening a Captionate XML, now a confirmation dialog is displayed if any data will be deleted. (Importing a Captionate XML will delete all current data).
Save (CTRL+S) Saves the current FLV file.
Save As... Prompts for a filename to save the current FLV file with a new name.
Close Closes the current FLV file. Asks for confirmation if the file is modified.
Export
Captionate XML... Prompts for a filename to save the current Captionate data as a Captionate XML file.
Data only FLV... Prompts for a filename to save the current Captionate data as a data-only FLV file.
Cue Points as Adobe FLVCoreCuePoints XML... Prompts for a filename to save the current cue points data in Adobe FLVCoreCuePoints XML format (which was introduced with Adobe Soundbooth public beta).
Captions for Current Language as TT XML... (CTRL+T) Prompts for a filename to save the captions for current language as TT XML format (Timed Text XML file, which you can use for the source parameter of the FLVPlaybackCaptioning component.).
[Commands added by export libraries] Additional export formats can be supported by external export libraries. These commands prompt for a filename to save the data in the format specified in the menu text.
Export Special
Video only FLV... Prompts for a filename to save a video only FLV file which only has video tags of the open FLV file.
Audio only FLV... Prompts for a filename to save an audio only FLV file which only has audio tags of the open FLV file.
Audio as MP3... If the audio codec used in the current FLV file is MP3, prompts for a filename to save the audio data as an MP3 file.
Import
From FLV file... Prompts for a filename to import the Captionate data from a FLV file. Current Captionate data will be completely replaced with the imported data.
Captionate XML... Prompts for a filename to import the Captionate data from a Captionate XML file. Current Captionate data will be completely replaced with the imported data.
Captions from Plain Text... (CTRL+G) Opens the Import Captions from Plain Text Dialog.
Cue Points from Adobe FLVCoreCuePoints XML... Prompts for a filename to import cue points from an Adobe FLVCoreCuePoints XML file. Current cue points will be completely replaced with the imported cue points.
Captions from TT XML... Prompts for a filename to import captions from a timed text XML. Current captions and language tracks will be completely replaced with the imported captions. This command makes use of external SWF file. Parsing of the TT XML is actually done by Flash CS3's FLVPlaybackCaptioning component. Requires active-x (IE) Flash plug-in 9 or later installed. Currently supports importing only a single language track.
Preferences... Opens the Preferences Dialog.
Choose Video for Video Preview... Opens the Choose Video for Video Preview Dialog.
[Most Recently Used 5 Files] Selecting a filename will open the file.
Exit Closes the application. Asks for confirmation if the open file is modified.
